FPDS-NG system will be using the "Description of Requirements" data element to track the Recovery Act spending. This data element is currently open and available on all actions. Starting April 3, 2009, this data element will be made mandatory on all actions and a Treasury Account Symbol format validation rule will be instituted. Any actions using Recovery Act funds must include the applicable Treasury Account Symbol in the "Description of Requirements" data element.

The format of the Treasury Account Symbol must be as follows:

• TAS::XX XXXX XXX::TAS (if you are using a sub-account code) or
• TAS::XX XXXX::TAS (if you are not using a sub-account code)
